although only 20 years old, she thinks ahead of her age. She thinks and questions motives which are considered impolite during her time.
She receives two proposals to marry. first by Mr. collins, a cousin and heir to the family estate Longbourne. second by Mr. Darcy, who she rejects at first because she believes him to be arrogant.
From the title of the film, she represents Pride because she is too proud to marry without love and to admit that she is wrong. She also represents Prejudice for she thinks that Mr. Darcy is too arrogant because of his remarks about her when they first met.
